LAST RDA 2021

 Today was Nevaeh's last day for the year at RDA.  Today she was riding Sabrina who is a lot bigger than Sandy the horse she usually rides.  Once again Nevbaeh displayed really good posture, lots of happy laughing and words.  Nevaeh especially loved it when Sabrina galloped.  Sabrina and Nevaeh won the race for going the slowest and another race for going the fastest!  Super last day for Nevaeh.

This happened yesterday at the end of the day.  Simply beautiful!  Olivia's hard work throughout the year is shining through.  First came Twinkle Twinkle and then cam Incy Wincy.  Here is Incy Wincy ...

week 5

Nevaeh had afew days off school getting over a cold but came back to school happy ready to go, even started with adding an extra hour on her day and finishing at 3pm now. A huge achievement from Nevaeh was visiting Harold in the big Life Education truck. We lasted the whole time and had so much fun, especially enjoying the magic of the colored lights. Was lovely being able to be involved and enjoy something with the Ruma Tui outside of the class. 

Nevaeh once again has had her wonderful friend Voilet to play with at lunch time, they sure do have a special friendship. On Thursday we had RDA which seen Nevaeh ride a new horse, Reo! Nevaeh was happy to try something new and Reo was very good and took everything nice and slow for us. 

Weeks 2 and 3 of Term 4

What a busy couple of weeks Nevaeh has had again in Ruma Tui. We have been working on lots of turn taking, shapes and emotions. There has been some wonderful opportunities for turn taking with friends while playing out in the sun and also with some of the awesome resources we have. After a bit of patience and some false starts,  Nevaeh really enjoys turn taking and waits really nice for the next go. 

RDA has been amazing, Nevaeh has been a wee bit more interested in Sandy the horse, and waiting to say "thank your after her ride, also some beautiful riding skills and a wee bit of cantering. 

The class are also learning an end of the year dance, which we were able to join in a practice for the first time this week, and wow did Nevaeh enjoy this! She was in her element. I would say "dance" and there was the biggest smile and she would be moving to the beat. One of the photos is also Nevaeh with her wonderful certificate for her beautiful colouring in skills. 

Finish of Term 3 pictures

Just a few pictures from the end of term 3. Introducing "Nevaeh's Art wall" thanks to Ann for making the beautiful sign for the sensory room. Nevaeh had been exploring using different ways to draw and paint, with the use of Chalk, pens, crayons and paint. We also enjoyed the books from Blenz

touching and looking at different textures with bright inviting colors. We are looking forward to term 4 and some more exciting learning and fun in Ruma Tui for Nevaeh. 

Pictures and Video Term 3

Hi team, sorry this blog post is a bit late, but how nice is it to see everyone back at school over these past couple of weeks. Nevaeh was certainly happy to see her friends. It was a great first day back on her first Thursday, lots of laughter and language, Nevaeh walked into class and went and straight to her desk opened it up to see what she could find. We have been have regular breaks between activities and recording some of these amazing moments. Nevaeh is certainly expressing herself through language and emotions more at the moment. We are currently working on "today I am happy" and using a happy picture 🙂 also on Epic with short books about emotions, happy, sad, angry. Nevaeh seems really engaged in these short stories and I am loving hearing her say "happy" it's the cutest wee voice. I think building on modeling verbal communication and symbols will be really helpful and enjoyable for Nevaeh over the next couple of weeks and into term 4. Hope you guys enjoy the videos and pictures of Nevaeh and seeing how happy she is being back at school with her friends and in Runa Tui. 

Week 1 Term 3

Welcome to Term 3! Nevaeh come back to school after a lovey break ready to learn and see her friends. We started the week off with a visit from Sam. Nevaeh loved being in the big sensory room enjoying some turn taking and stretching along with some singing.  Nevaeh especially enjoyed being in the blow up pod, singing "row row row your boat", Nevaeh had some great reaching out and using left side, stretching up and wonderful movement. 

We have also been working alongside the class in maths, we are looking at statistics. It was lots of fun doing the M&M colour sorting, we found out our packet had more Red M&M's than any other colour. Nevaeh used the abacus to count on and we coloured in a bar graph.  Neveah was also part of a group with her friends Lucas and Violet looking at who had what pets in Ruma Tui, was lots of fun asking class mates what pets they had at home and recording it.  

I think the best part for Nevaeh being back at school was seeing her friends in the class, she had a big smile and was very engaged and relaxed all week. Nevaeh was very happy to spend time with her friend Violet, walking around singing and stomping on the deck. Bring on a positive, fun term 3.
